Central government plans to lower esic contribution rate by 1% for employee & 4% for employers- february 2019 4 Replies / 1 Files / 4 Participants New ESIC Contribution Rates. Employer Contribution 3.25%; Employee Contribution 0.75%; Total Contribution 4%; Use of new ESI Contribution Rates. If the ESIC contribution rates decrease then the in-hand salary of employees will increase and for employers also it reduces some burden. The ESIC payment due date is 15th of every following month, every employer has to make ESIC contributions payments on or before 15th of every following month. If any employer fails to file ESIC returns payment on right time then they have to pay the interest. The contribution payable to the Corporation in respect of an employee shall comprise of employer's contribution and employee's contribution at a specified rate. The rates are revised from time to time. Currently, the employee's contribution rate (w.e.f. 01.07.2019) is 0.75% of the wages and that of employer's is 3.25%
